The Revere Police Activities League (PAL)

On Saturday, April 5th, 2008, The Revere Police hosted the first annual Police Activities League Basketball tournament.  The event was a smashing success, as youths from twelve cities and towns competed in the day long event to help curb youth and gang violence.  Police officers from each town attended the event, which featured food from Nana's Pizza and Kelly's Roast Beef of Everett.  The event also brought out local politicians: Ward Six city councillor Charles Patch who cheered the Revere Team to a few victories,  and Mayor Tom Ambrosino, who spoke to the crowd about youth violence.  Also in attendance was Suffolk County D.A. Daniel Conley who spoke to the youths about the importance of sports and other community events that keep the youths off the street and in the gymnasium.  Thanks to Garfield School art teacher Nikki Murphy for volunteering to photograph the event!
