The Uniform Patrol Division is the "core" of the department and are primarily the first to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. In 2004, the department responded to (stats pending) calls for service. In 2005, the department responded to (stats pending) calls for service. The Patrol Officers Our patrol officers emphasize on community policing techniques and are required to complete directed patrols in their areas on a daily basis. This allows the officers to become even more familiar with our community and employees of businesses in their area as well as the community getting to know our officers. At the beginning of each shift, the officers attend a briefing (roll call) where they In addition to the sector car patrols, The Uniform Patrol Division is assitisted by many other officers and departments. The day and night shift also have officers assigned to the traffic division on patrol, and the day shift has the additional aid of the parking control division. Seasonal patrols, such as the Mountain Bike Unit and targeted Walking Routes provide additional safety for our residents where and when needed. The Revere Police Gang Unit also patrols known areas where gang activity is suspected.

Our department currently has three rotations working eight hour shifts: The "Day Shift" and the "Night Shift". The night shift, commonly referred to as the "Split Shift", is 'split' into the overnight (or garveyard) shift and the evening (or night) shift.. These officers are all graduates of the Massachusetts Police Academy and have completed field training with an experienced Field Training Officer.
receive pertinent information such as wanted persons, runaways, missingpersons, etc. Most of our patrol vehicles are equipped with laptop computers,which allow officers to quickly check the status of a vehicle or person by simplyentering some basic information into the terminal. The laptops also allow officers to complete Uniform Crime Reports in the comfort of their patrol car eliminating the need for them to leave their vehicle to do these reports. Once the officer has completed the report, he or she simply electronically sends his report to the shift supervisor for approval.
